Recapping Our Incredible Experience at the Snap Conference in Utah

We just returned from the fantastic Snap Conference in Utah, and let us tell you, it was an absolutely phenomenal experience! The Snap Conference is a premier event for creative bloggers, designers, and entrepreneurs, a vibrant hub where ideas are exchanged, friendships are forged, and innovation is celebrated.

Attending conferences like Snap is incredibly vital for us. It’s not just about learning new strategies or discovering emerging trends; it’s about reconnecting with the heart of the DIY and creative community. The energy is infectious, the workshops are insightful, and the opportunity to interact face-to-face with people you admire is truly invaluable. We came back brimming with fresh perspectives and a renewed sense of purpose, eager to translate all that inspiration into amazing content for you.

Connecting with Fellow DIY Legends: Ana White

One of the absolute highlights of the conference was the chance to meet up with some of our cherished friends and collaborators in person. There’s something truly special about being in a room full of like-minded individuals who share your passion for sawdust, paint, and bringing creative visions to life. It was so awesome to finally catch up and share stories, tips, and dreams.

We were especially thrilled to spend quality time with the legendary Ana White, a true pioneer in the world of DIY woodworking and furniture building. Her incredible talent and generosity in sharing detailed plans have empowered countless individuals to pick up a saw and create beautiful, functional pieces for their homes. Our conversations with Ana were, predictably, all things wood and furniture! Another exciting part of any conference is exploring the exhibitor booths, where we get to see the latest innovations from our favorite brands. It’s like a playground for DIY enthusiasts! We were particularly excited to visit one of our absolute favorite booths at the convention, buzzing with energy and showcasing some incredible tools.

You all know how much we rely on high-quality tools to bring our projects to life, and Ryobi has always been a steadfast partner in our DIY adventures. Their commitment to innovation, reliability, and making powerful tools accessible has made them an indispensable part of our workshop. Visiting their booth was a fantastic opportunity to see their newest offerings firsthand, learn about upcoming product developments, and chat directly with their amazing team.

The post-conference excitement isn’t slowing down anytime soon! As you read this, we’re likely catching an early flight to Virginia, embarking on another exciting leg of our journey. This time, we’re heading to the esteemed Reynolds Test Kitchens, a place where culinary creativity and innovation thrive. We’re beyond excited to “play” with our favorite kitchen tools, experiment with new techniques, and perhaps even whip up some delicious creations. This visit is all about expanding our creative horizons beyond just furniture and decor, exploring how we can bring more functional and beautiful elements into the heart of the home – the kitchen. Woohoo for new culinary adventures!

And the adventure doesn’t stop there! This weekend, we’ll be soaking up the vibrant energy of New York City. From exploring unique design districts to discovering hidden gems, NYC always offers an endless source of inspiration for our projects. Following that, we’ll be spending most of next week in the bustling city of Chicago. Each city offers its own unique architectural styles, local craftsmanship, and artistic communities, providing a rich tapestry of ideas that we can’t wait to incorporate into future Shanty2Chic designs. Wow… even just listing it all out makes us a little tired, but it’s a good kind of tired – the kind that comes from pursuing your passions wholeheartedly!
